v     The Ceramic Technological Institute (CTI) is being set up by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) assistance. The institute when fully established by 1992 will have over forty scientists in various disciplines of ceramic science.

v  The Development objective of the institute is to support the Indian Ceramic Industry in modernizing its technology and to develop new products and process in the emerging technology of Advanced Ceramics.
